Google Drops Directory Submission Suggestion


Since the gamers learned to game the linking system, links have been gradually devalued. I think that this is a part of that. I have brought this up on several occasions on the Web Pro World forum, but it has been ignored. Google seems to have found another means of judging the importance of a web page, and links may be a part of it, but they seem to be an increasingly smaller part. All I can say, is that it is about time!

The citation system was a great idea, but it depended on honesty and self regulation, neither of which lasted very long after the web became a primary tool for information and business.
